NSW: Farmer flown from Dubbo to Sydney with head injuries

A nine-year-old boy ran 2 km to get help after his father was struck by a tree branch
and knocked unconscious in the New South Wales Central West.

The critically injured farmer, aged 45, was flown from Dubbo to Sydney by an NRMA CareFlight
medical team after the accident, which took place about 40 km from Dubbo.

He suffered a fractured skull and a brain haemorrhage when the branch of an iron bark
tree he was felling struck him on the head.

He was first taken to Dubbo Base Hospital but was later transferred to Sydney's Royal
North Shore Hospital.
