Fed: Hill says public should debate RSL plan
Defence Minister ROBERT HILL says a bid by the RSL to allow children to march on AnzacDay should be open to public debate.
RSL national president PETER PHILLIPS says the RSL wants to modernise the Anzac Daymarch by involving more young people, regardless of whether they're the descendants ofveterans.
Senator HILL says he's always thought it's an occasion for those who have served, orare very close to those who have served, to be respected through the march.
But he's told the Seven Network he respects the RSL's views and the proposal shouldbe debated by the public.
